Following rumors that had gather around earlier yesterday about the death of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidency has hereby come out to dispute such rumors saying it lacks truth.
The Presidency, through both of its media aides on twitter, last night debuked speculations that President Muhammadu Buhari was in a terrible health condition that could lead to his death. They however asserted that the president is well, healthy and alive.
In his reaction to the speculations on his Twitter handle, Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity) thanked all those who wished the president well and also asked for the Grace of God on all those who initialised the rumor.
“Best wishes to all who wish PMB well. As for those who carry evil rumours, may they receive grace to repent.”
Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on media and publicity, also lent his voice on twitter saying:
“The president cannot be holidaying in the United Kingdom and be in Germany, dead or alive at the same time. ”
Throwing shades at the former president, he also added that Buhari “was unlike a past president who was at Ota with Chief Obasanjo and attending the Trump inauguration in Washington DC, being in two places at the same time.”
President Muhammadu Buhari left Nigeria on Thursday for United Kingdom on a medical vacation and has submitted a 10 day rest request to the senate which has already been approved. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo takes charge till he is back.
The nature of his sickness was not disclosed but the presidency called it a routine medical checkup.
