The latest round of the English Premier League saw a number of surprising results, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United faltering under seemingly ‘smaller’ teams. Even with a Draw against Liverpool Fc, Chelsea now seems to be looking very confident on top of the Standings. It will take only an Arsenal effect this Saturday to see if the already created 9 points gap will either be shrinked, maintained or stretched.
A disappointing Arsenal will look to redeem their image after loosing at home to a lowly Watford side as they take on run away league leaders, Chelsea at the Stamford bridge this Saturday. The gunners have a very poor record against Chelsea on the Stamford Bridge with only 3wins since Abrahamovic took ownership of the London based club. However, they will have to live above the statistics to give life to their title hopes the season.
Manchester United will face the Champions, Leicester city this Saturday after failing to acquire the needed three points against another low rated Hull city midweek. They will now be at the mercy of Leicester to keep up their fight for the top four spot. The champions, Leicester, are in a serious relegation scruff after falling to secure yet another 3points against Burnley.
Tottenham were also held at home to a 0-0 draw by a struggling Sunderland. They will now take on Middlesborough this weekend While Liverpool prepares to match on Hull city.
On Wednesday, both Manchester sides had the chance to capitalize on the slip-ups by the big guns, but it was Guardiola’s side that came out firing, thumping Westham United 4-0 at the Olympic Stadium with Manchester City’s new boy, Gabriel Jesus getting his first goal for the club. Manchester city will now play Swansea this weekend.
Here is how the EPL table looks after the latest round of fixtures.
