Tuesday was a very stormy day in Nasarawa state as the Executive Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura shaked-up his cabinet by sacking 10 commissioners out of available 16. The Governor has immediately stated plans to replace the affected commissioners in the affected ministry. He has submitted fresh names to the State Assembly for screening and appointment.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Mohammed Abdullahi, the Governor indicated that two out of the six retained commissioners have been redeployed to serve in other ministries. Aliyu Tijani was moved from Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to Education, while Haruna Osegba was moved from Commerce and Industry to Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
The other Four include Yusuf Shehu-Usman (Ministry of Justice); Daniel Iya (Ministry of Health); Sunny Agassi (Ministry of Lands) and Gabriel Aka’aka (Ministry of Environment).
