Nigerians Celebrates Oloyede: As JAMB Returns N5bn into the Government’s Treasure Account.

Ever since the realization of the brave act on Friday (21 July), praises and encomiums from all works of life have continued to reach the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede. The formidable titan made history by returning a whooping N5 billion to the government’s treasury just within a year in charge. The N5billion is the remainder of the budget spent on the conduct and planning of this year’s examinations.

The JAMB Registrar achieved this feat due to his Administrative acumen after successfully conducting 2017 JAMB Examination. This constitutes a change in the status quo as JAMB used to be known before now to always beg Government for more money for their exercise.

Oloyede has not only succeeded in blocking all loopholes without compromising standards, but have also raised the bar in this regards. Reports also have it that he is currently working on a plans to reduce the fee of the registration forms to make it affordable for all by 2018.

With this, he his gradually capturing the hearts of progressive Nigerians. Consequently, it has resulted in praises and kudos for him. Even the Muslim community (NSCIA) of which he belongs are ceasing every medium to celebrate the scholar in the finest tradition. Prof. Oloyede is the immediate former Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin and a Professor of Islamic Jurisprudence.

The social media, newsstands and various joints are still filled with the news, commendations, surprise and consternation with almost the incredible story in an era when government officials see such position as an opportunity to enrich their pocket. For record, this feat has not been met since 1999.
