Nigerians Celebrates Oloyede: As JAMB Returns N5bn into the Government’s Treasure Account.

Ever since the realization of the brave act on Friday (21 July), praises and encomiums from all works of life have continued to reach the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede. The formidable titan made history by returning a whooping N5 billion to the government’s treasury just within a year in charge. The N5billion is the remainder of the budget spent on the conduct and planning of this year’s examinations.

The Federal Government of Nigeria, after much debate, have decided to SCRAP the Allmighty Post UTME leaving the admissions of candidates directly in the hands of JAMB. However, some people are of the opinion that the idea is so paralysing the system. They claim that the abnormalities and malpratices coupled up with JAMB’s technical imbalance is not good enough to test candidates knowlege.

Thus, the recent imposition of law on tertiary institutions (as it had been called) whom as well extort and paralyse the students in d process of extra scutiny(post jamb), will now be the talking point as some are of the opinion that the JAMB exercise itself is what should be scrapped and not the universities’ special screening.

Moreover, the FG also tagged the cut-off mark at 180 for every course and make the Jamb result valid for THREE good YEARS.
