NYSC ORIENTATION EXERCISE: THINGS TO TAKE TO CAMP.

Are you a prospective NYSC corp member? And you are probably thinking about what you need and what not you need to take along to the Orientation camp. Well, worry no more as this post covers and reveals all you need to know about NYSC and its orientation exercise.

The NYSC Orientation exercise is a three-weeks program set up to:

(a) to give the corps members a better understanding of the objectives of the NYSC scheme and enable them to internalize its ideals.

(b) To familiarize corps members with their new environment in their political, cultural, social and economic setting.

(c) To instil discipline in the youths; and

(d) To imbue in them the spirit of collective responsibility.

Thus: It means you would be needing some important items to be equipped. It is advised you create a hand list of them for easy purchase. Below are the basic items and some other necessaries for the orientations course.

NYSC: Corp Members To Be Included in The NHIS Scheme.

The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) said it would enroll members of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the health scheme to enable them have access to quality and cheaper healthcare services.

In a statement by NYSC Director of Press, Mrs Bose Aderibigbe, in Abuja on Friday, the Executive Secretary of NHIS, Prof. Usman Yusuf, disclosed this during a visit to the NYSC Director- General, Brig.- Gen. Sule Kazaure.

Explaining how this package will be unleashed and managed, Prof. Yusuf revealed that NHIS officials would, at the start of the NYSC orientation exercises, head straight to all camps across the country to capture biometric data and information of corps members. Continue reading

NYSC GETS NEW BOSS.

NYSC gets new DG From Molly Kilete, Abuja A major shake-up has taken place in the Nigerian Army with the appointment of a new Theatre Commander for Operation Lafia Dole, and new Director General for the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC).

With the new arrangement, Major-General H. Umaru is now the Chief of Training and Operations at the Army Headquarters, while Brigadier-General S.Z. Kazaure is the new NYSC Director General. In a posting and appointment letter dated April 11, 2016, obtained by Daily Sun, Major- General L.E. Irabor, will remain as commander Operation Lafia Dole while Brigadier-General Olawunmi, former NYSC DG, will move to the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, as acting commandant.

CORP MEMBERS IN KEFFI RALLY AGAINST THE LASSA FEVER

Moreover, Richard Rogers (a British Architect) once said that ‘the only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved’. This notion had propelled the Corp members in the Environmental protection and sanitation CDS group in Keffi local government of nasarawa state on 11th March, 2016 to stage an organized rally within the community to sensitise the dwellers, travelers and indigenes of their host community, keffi.
